GM: You plow into the surprised knights, who apparently thought that just because you dropped your axe and drew a potion, you weren't going to attack.
Mrugnak: Beh, logic smogic.

GM: BTW, a Berserk check at -2?

Mrugnak: I have no words. I'm so happy :D
GM: "All standard casting modifiers apply except those for distance – the target is affected just as if you had cast the spell by touch!"

Mrugnak: Hell you're fine. I managed -120 once.
GM: No, only 1 roll. If you pass multiple thresholds at once, you roll at a -2 penalty per threshold.
GM: But as you pointed out, you made it by 6.

Richard: you just need a bunch of healing pots

Mrugnak: Alchemical fire on the shields!
Ayake: Area still goes foosh?
Orcs: "Our shields are-um burning-um!"
Cid: Great. I'm toast
Ayake: I mean, it's an area attack.
GM: I suppose so.
Mrugnak: Erk.
GM: There's fire, they're taking some damage.
Mrugnak: Oh wait!
GM: [3d6] => [1,3,6] = (10)
Mrugnak: I'm fire resistant.
Ayake: 'immune'.
GM: Are you standing next to Cavalry #4?

3) YOUR TURN NOW:: [28] Goblin Mage
(on deck: [26] Connell)

Mrugnak: Oh, cavelry 4 not 3.
Goblin: Cover his eyes with one hand while aiming at... Mrugnak? Sure why not.

4) YOUR TURN NOW:: [26] Connell
(on deck: [24] Mrugnak)

Richard: fire [3d6.skill(18,+4+4-3-5)] => [4,1,5] = 10 vs (18) or less Success! by 8 center of cav3lol
Richard: doh!
Cid: For the love of The Light!!
Connell: (( Checking something >.>
** Richard curses his early paste **
GM: What's cooking, Connell?
Connell: Eh neverming. Charge! Connell runs in and makes a leap at a horse's neck, roaring.
GM: Attack roll?
Connell: [3d6.skill(18,-5)] => [3,3,3] = 9 vs (13) or less Success! by 4
Connell: (( I fail at typing today. :P ))
Orcs: Horse Dodge! [3d6.skill(10,-2)] => [4,4,5] = 13 vs (8) or less Failure! by 5
Connell: On hit: [1d6+3] => [3,3] = (6)
GM: Well, no... you just intercepted a bunch of charging horses.
GM: Damage is [(7d6+1)/2)] => (7d6+1)/2) crushing to you, and [(5d6+3)/2] => 13.0 cutting to them.
GM: [(7d6+1)/2] => 14.0 i meant.
Connell: [3d6.skill(11,0)] => [2,3,5] = 10 vs (11) or less Success! by 1
GM: You slam into them at a combined speed of around 30 miles an hour. (50 kph?)
Connell: Well I don't drop instantly unconscious.
GM: You take 9 damage (ow!) and pretty much kill a horse.
Orcs: Riding [3d6.skill(14)] => [2,3,1] = 6 vs (14) or less Success! by 8
Orcs: The orcs dodge over you, mostly.

5) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Mrugnak
(on deck: [24] Richard)

Mrugnak: So now it's orcs on horses between me and Cid?
Mrugnak: Eh. Same difference.
Ayake: Unarmored horses.
Ayake: (At what point of 'cutting horses apart' does this stop being a cavalry troop?)
Mrugnak: Mrugnak wades in, looking to break legs!
Ayake: (As in, about how badly hurt have I got this crowd of guys?)
GM: If the Orcs make their riding rolls, damage to horses is applied as half damage to the riders.
GM: Otherwise, full damage.
GM: Mob 5 is on its last legs.
Ayake: Right.
Mrugnak: Leg target instead of face! SM+1 instead of 0! -2 for darkness still! Huvudet-krossat-i (Morningstar) [3d6.attack(23,-2-2+1)] => [6,2,3] = 11 vs (16) or less Success! by 5 (Auto DA for -4/-2)
Ayake: (So to speak)
GM: Mob 4 is hurting.
Orcs: Horses dodge! [3d6.skill(10,2-3)] => [2,4,5] = 11 vs (9) or less Failure! by 2
Mrugnak: Huvudet-krossat-i (Morningstar) [4d6+3 +1] => [5,1,6,6,3,1] = (22) cr (Armor Div 1/2) Blessed
Orcs: Riding [3d6.skill(14)] => [6,1,3] = 10 vs (14) or less Success! by 4
Narrator: Horses crumple under Mrugnak's blows.

6) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Richard
(on deck: [24] Cid)

Mrugnak: Step around the mob.
GM: Richard?
Richard: reroll or keep the 10?
Ayake: It was a roll vs 18-. I'd reroll in hopes of a crit. :P
GM: You have a -5 penalty for targeting the middle of a moving mob, as you have to arc the shot.
Richard: fire [3d6.skill(18,+4+4-3-5)] => [4,2,2] = 8 vs (18) or less Success! by 10 center of cav3
GM: Yeah, okay.
Cid: There's 1 thing that utterly mystifies me
Richard: [2d6] => [3,3] = (6) boom
GM: Lemme see. 6+5 is 11 hits. for basically no damage to the knights themselves, but lots of minor wounds to the horses.
Ayake: And I think that bounces off Connell and Mrugnak and Cid entirely.
Narrator: As the explosive arrow shatters on the ground, the horses scream and flail, collasping in an untidy collection and half filling Richard's defensive wall.
Narrator: The few knights that manage to jump clear turn and flee.
GM: What's your question, Cid?
Cid: Nevermind
Cid: I was curious why I was exempt from explosive damages
Richard: DR :)
Mrugnak: High DR.
Ayake: 'because it's 2d6 damage and you have DR 10'.
Ayake: Basically.
Cid: Except for my face
Ayake: It's 'fragments', not 'explosives'
Ayake: They're treated differently.
GM: What he said.

7) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Cid
(on deck: [24] Foot Knights)

8) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Orc Cavalry
(on deck: [28] Ayake)

Ayake: Foot Knights - All gone!
Ayake: Heh.
Ayake: What? Wait? No, come back!
Ayake: They're getting away. =(
Cid: Forget it, Ayake
Orcs: Cavalry 5 rides past Ayake, continuing to try to trample him [3d6.skill(14,4-6)] => [1,4,1] = 6 vs (12) or less Success! by 6 DA-6/-3
and lance him as they go [3d6.skill(16,4-8)] => [2,2,4] = 8 vs (12) or less Success! by 4 DA-8/-4

Cid: I want them as far away as possible
Ayake: This is not a full charge - lance is 6 lbs?
GM: They haven't slowed down yet, so yes, it's still a full charge. It's basically the back line riding over you.
Orcs: Cavalry 4 turns and rides south, hoping to avoid Berkun.
Ayake: They didn't slow down for having to ride over a load of dead orcs and half their own number's horses being de-legged?
Orcs: Good point.
Orcs: The effective weight is 24, then.
Ayake: Karate Parry the Tramplings: [3d6.skill(17,-3)] => [6,2,2] = 10 vs (14) or less Success! by 4 and the lances [3d6.skill(17,-4)] => [2,5,6] = 13 vs (13) or less Success! by 0
Ayake: One lance hit.
Orcs: Lance damage! [3d6] => [1,1,3] = (5) impaling.
Ayake: 0 HP!
GM: O, right.
GM: You took 4, then?
Ayake: 5-3*2
GM: 'kay.

1) YOUR TURN NOW:: [28] Ayake
(on deck: [28] Berkun)

Ayake: Conscious?: [3d6.skill(12,0)] => [1,6,5] = 12 vs (12) or less Success! by 0
GM: Mrugnak needs to check for Berserk.
Ayake: ...This is round 15.
GM: Yes?
Mrugnak: Mrugnak Does, I'm pretty sure!
Mrugnak: Am' I on a penalty?
GM: No penalty.
Ayake: I now have no penalty on Project Blow.
Mrugnak: [3d6.skill(15,+1)] => [2,4,4] = 10 vs (16) or less Success! by 6
Ayake: Projected Cone of Cutting Stupefying Crippling Armor-Piercing Chi Death.
Ayake: 10y long, 5y wide directly SW.

Ayake: Stupefying Blow (Stun): [3d6.skill(17,-5)] => [3,2,4] = 9 vs (12) or less Success! by 3
Ayake: Karate Claw Strike: [3d6.skill(24,0] => 3d6.skill(24,0 There are modifiers but they're not -8 and it's an area attack at a mob.
Ayake: [3d6.skill(16,0)] => [3,3,2] = 8 vs (16) or less Success! by 8
Ayake: THOOM.
GM: Damage?
Ayake: Damage is [2d6+4] => [3,3,4] = (10) cut cone.
Ayake: Area attack, so average of torso and lowest DR.
Ayake: HT at -1 per 2 penetrating damage or stunned. Will at -1 per 2 penetrating damage or stunned.
Ayake: I take 2 HP from the critfail on Penetrating Blow.
Ayake: Conscious? [3d6.skill(12,0)] => [4,2,6] = 12 vs (12) or less Success! by 0
Ayake: And then I fall down.
Narrator: Ayake turns and thrust his claws at the knights, energy billowing from his hands. The knights scream as their horses tumble.

2) YOUR TURN NOW:: [28] Berkun
(on deck: [28] Goblin Mage)

Berkun: Berkun quickdraws an arrow [3d6.skill(15,1)] => [3,5,1] = 9 vs (16) or less Success! by 7 and quick-loads his bow [3d6.skill(21,-1)] => [1,6,4] = 11 vs (20) or less Success! by 9
Ayake: By the way, you guys are totes on your own now.
Berkun: Shoot Cavalry 4 from behind [3d6.skill(21,1-5-6+5)] => [5,6,1] = 12 vs (16) or less Success! by 4
Berkun: Damage is [1d6+5] => [3,5] = (8)
Cid: From the size of the cavalries, can they squeeze in between the buildings?
GM: With difficulty.

3) YOUR TURN NOW:: [28] Goblin Mage
(on deck: [26] Connell)

Cid: Finally!
Cid: SOME tactical usage!
Cid: My next destination, if I ever get back up, is my backpack
Goblin: Aim 2 at Mrugnak.

4) YOUR TURN NOW:: [26] Connell
(on deck: [24] Mrugnak)

Connell: Back off, heading around a building, and turn back into a faun.
Connell: Or, when I see the orcs, stay a tiger. :P
GM: Okay, you're a badly hurt faun. You can see Cid's backpack.
GM: Oh, right.

5) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Mrugnak
(on deck: [24] Richard)

Mrugnak: Mrugnak steps up to Cid and beans him with the healing potion!
Mrugnak: Uh. which one was that? Regular or Major?
Ayake: Endless Major, I think.
GM: "attempt to fast draw one of the Bottomless potions of minor healing!"
GM: I have chat logs =)
Mrugnak: Minor! Thank you :D
Ayake: Whup.
GM: Cid heals [1d6] => [3] = (3) damage.
Mrugnak: Um.
Mrugnak: Never said Mrugnak was smart.
Mrugnak: "Why it no fix puppy?"
Cid: I am just so angry right now...
GM: You're not sure, but given that he still has a lance embedded in him, you don't think he's well yet.
Ayake: Man, if you're getting angry about a game, it's time to step back.
Mrugnak: To be honest, 2d over 1d wasn't going to help much.

6) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Richard
(on deck: [24] Cid)

Richard: who are the cav 1 going for?
Ayake: Looks like Mrugnak and Cid.
GM: Definitely Mrugnak, maybe Cid.
Cid: *waits for the inevitable deathblow*
Richard: Fast-Draw Arrow [3d6.skill(16,0)] => [3,3,4] = 10 vs (16) or less Success! by 6 then ready the bow [3d6.skill(18,-3)] => [3,2,5] = 10 vs (15) or less Success! by 5 cast 2d Explode (-1FP, Shouting) [3d6.skill(19,-6-2+2)] => [6,1,5] = 12 vs (13) or less Success! by 1 for 2 FP and fire at cav 1 center guyfire [3d6.skill(18,+4-4-5)] => [2,5,2] = 9 vs (13) or less Success! by 4

7) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Cid
(on deck: [24] Orc Cavalry)

8) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Orc Cavalry
(on deck: [28] Ayake)

Orcs: Cavalry #4 rides south! [3d6.skill(14,-4)] => [6,6,6] = 18 vs (10) or less Critical Failure! [B556]
Ayake: CRUNCH.
Orcs: And badly misjudges the distance. [4d6] => [2,4,5,3] = (14)
Orcs: The survivors ride through!
Orcs: Can Cavalry 1 even see Cid? [3d6.skill(10,4-4-3)] => [4,3,4] = 11 vs (7) or less Failure! by 4
Orcs: No! They charge Mrugnak, though, they can see him.
Orcs: Do Orcs know about minotaurs? [3d6.skill(9,4)] => [6,6,4] = 16 vs (13) or less Failure! by 3
Orcs: Apparently not. $@#$@#$
Orcs: Telegraphed attack! [3d6.skill(16,4+4)] => [6,3,1] = 10 vs (24) or less Success! by 14
Mrugnak: Uh huh.
Mrugnak: That's funny.
GM: You're hit by 5 lances and have +2 to defend.
Mrugnak: So.
Ayake: Notably, parrying those is not a good option for your morningstar.
Ayake: Since they're what, 6x its weight?
Mrugnak: 9.5 lbs
GM: 36 lbs is 3 times the weight, and its' fine. He could try it!
Mrugnak: the lances are effectively how much?
GM: 36 lbs.
Mrugnak: Sorry yes.
Ayake: It'll break on a... 1 on 1d6, I think, because it's Fine?
Mrugnak: it is indeed fine!
Mrugnak: Meh, my Luck is fabulous.
Mrugnak: I parry!
Orcs: Meanwhile, suicidal orcs jump the wall and trench to get at Richard!
Orcs: (this is Cav #2 for those playing at home!)
Orcs: Riding check to make the jump! [3d6.skill(14,-4)] => [6,1,4] = 11 vs (10) or less Failure! by 1
Mrugnak: Anything useful I can do with a Riposte?
Mrugnak: Mobs confuse me.
Ayake: Reduce their parry.
GM: They can't parry, they're using lances.
Ayake: So no.
Ayake: I keep not being able to do useful ripostes either.
Orcs: Clumsy lance strikes on Richard! [3d6.skill(9,4)] => [3,6,3] = 12 vs (13) or less Success! by 1
Ayake: Where are all the two-axe orcs?
GM: Dead?
Mrugnak: Meh. I'll counterattack next turn.
GM: At the keep?
GM: These are knights, they use shields.
Mrugnak: Huvudet-krossat-i (Morningstar) parry [3d6.skill(14,-1+2+1 +1)] => [2,1,6] = 9 vs (17) or less Success! by 8 Blessed
Mrugnak: [1d6] => [1] = (1)
Mrugnak: luck!
Mrugnak: [1d6] => [4] = (4)
Mrugnak: [1d6] => [1] = (1)
Mrugnak: I like that 4.
Mrugnak: I'll take it :D
GM: 'kay.
GM: Cav #2 takes [6d6] => [1,5,1,4,5,5] = (21) damage from running into a ditch. And they hit Richard unless he defends from the... back, really.
Richard: back or flank?
Ayake: Might I recommend 'feverish dodge and drop'?
GM: Flank. If they'd jumped the wall, they'd have gotten you in the back, but they failed.
Richard: ok
Richard: any other minues?
Richard: from RoF etc?
GM: No, it was a clumsy attack on their part and only 1 lance landed.
Richard: retreating dodge [3d6.skill(8,+1+3+3)] => [5,2,1] = 8 vs (15) or less Success! by 7
GM: Uhm. -2 for flank, +3 retreat. Where's the other +3 ... oh, haste.
GM: 'kay.
Richard: doh, forgot flank
Richard: so bad
GM: yeah, you're fine.

Ayake: Well, step.
Ayake: I expected to.
Ayake: But then nothing hit me.

Orcs: Orcs Ride! [3d6.skill(14,-2)] => [1,6,2] = 9 vs (12) or less Success! by 3

3) YOUR TURN NOW:: [28] Goblin Mage
(on deck: [26] Connell)

Goblin: Wait, aiming at Mrugnak and attacking as soon as Cavalry 1 moves out of the way.

4) YOUR TURN NOW:: [26] Connell
(on deck: [24] Mrugnak)

** Connell is free of surrounding orcs, so he turns back into a faun and starts casting a spell. (( First of 2 seconds )) **
Connell: (( Shouting and yelling, -2 FP. So it'll be -2 when the time comes next round. ))

5) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Mrugnak
(on deck: [24] Richard)

Mrugnak: "You! You make not fix!" Mrugnak rounds on the knights and smashes them for ruining the healing potion!
Mrugnak: Horses! Legs!
Mrugnak: Leg target instead of face! SM+1 instead of 0! -2 for darkness still! Huvudet-krossat-i (Morningstar) [3d6.attack(23,-2-2+1)] => [5,5,3] = 13 vs (16) or less Success! by 3 (Auto DA for -4/-2)

Ayake: He smashes the horse into a horse. And smashes the other horse into a smaller horse. And then he mails it to himself. And then he SMASHES it with a MORNINGSTAR.
Narrator: Mrugnak spins, whirling Huvudet-krossat-i through the legs of a half dozen horses. They collapse in a pile, spilling knights everywhere and tripping the ones behind them. A few stragglers veer off, then flee south for the castle.
Ayake: Okay, so I have creative differences with the narrator.
Goblin: Readied attack! [3d6.skill(16,4+1-6)] => [4,6,2] = 12 vs (15) or less Success! by 3
Narrator: Out of the darkness, a lightning bolt zaps toward Mrugnak!
Mrugnak: Parrying it would be ridiculous, even though my weapon has a wooden handle.
GM: Roll your dodge or take it.
Mrugnak: I'm not sure if it counts as a thrown weapon or an arrow anyways.
Ayake: You can't parry it, it's not a thrown weapon. :P
Mrugnak: Frantic!
Mrugnak: Dodge (9) [3d6.skill(9,+2-2+1 +1)] => [1,6,6] = 13 vs (11) or less Failure! by 2 Blessed
Mrugnak: Gazorch!
GM: Damage is [4d6] => [4,2,2,6] = (14), metal armor only gives DR1
GM: So 11 points?
Mrugnak: that's enough for berserk, but not enough for a major wound.
GM: weeps.
Mrugnak: 1 enchantment counts as metal?
GM: Doh! 10 points.
Mrugnak: as it is on metal armor I presume
Mrugnak: oh hey
Mrugnak: still enough for berserk!
Mrugnak: And THEN the stun roll comes.
GM: No, it's separate for all purposes.
GM: Yes... at -1.
Mrugnak: [3d6.skill(15,-1+1)] => [6,3,6] = 15 vs (15) or less Success! by 0

Narrator: The surviving knights fail to clear their horses and scream in agony.

7) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Cid
(on deck: [24] Orc Cavalry)

8) YOUR TURN NOW:: [24] Orc Cavalry
(on deck: [28] Ayake)

GM: Cavalry 4 flees south, clearly outmatched.
Ayake: NOW I fall down.
Ayake: *thud*
GM: Combat is over.
Cid: Thank fuck...
Richard: we won!
Richard: pretty much
Ayake: We TOTALLY won.
Richard: well, this rounds
Richard: what will the castle hold?
Ayake: So I have an idea.
GM: The goblin mage turns and flees south, too, by the way.
Ayake: I'd like to send one more-or-less unwounded orc back to the castle.
Ayake: With a message.
GM: The other forces on the road quickly start falling back to the castle.
GM: What's the message?
Ayake: That if the castle's inhabitants leave behind their arms and armor, surrender, and march quietly out of the valley, we won't kill them all.
Ayake: That said: I suspect other PCs may nix this plan.
Cid: I reject. It will be a taunt the orcs won't take lightly
Mrugnak: If that's a distraction while we go somewhere else?
GM: We'll deal with your mad plan next week.
Mrugnak: not that Mrugnak is cunning enough to suggest that.
Mrugnak: I think he'd think that's a fine idea.
GM: And Cid doesn't get a vote until he's conscious.
GM: Come to think of it, Ayake isn't probably making many suggestions until he's healed.
GM: Etc. etc.
Richard: heh
Richard: rest time, then heals
Narrator: The last of the orcs retreated south.
